The new outlet, located at the arrival station of the Sun World Fansipan Legend cable car in Sa Pa, Lao Cai Province, northern Vietnam, features glass walls designed to maximize panoramic views.
Starbucks said the store aims to provide a unique experience combining coffee culture with the natural beauty of Vietnam’s highest peak.
The Fansipan store marks another milestone for Starbucks in Vietnam, which celebrated its 150th outlet earlier this year after more than a decade in the market.
While the chain has fewer locations than some competitors, it has invested heavily in prime sites in Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, and tourist destinations.
Starbucks has also localized its design approach, incorporating cultural elements into stores such as those in Da Nang’s Hoi An and Ninh Binh Province’s Trang An.
In major cities like Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi, the coffee giant operates premium Starbucks Reserve outlets, where drinks can cost more than VND200,000 (US$8) each.
Globally, Starbucks has opened several scenic-view locations, including one at the Fujikawa Service Area in Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan, where customers can sip coffee while viewing Mount Fuji.
