Recently, photos of a butterfly flower garden overlooking the iconic 'dinosaur spine' ridge in Ta Xua, a mountainous destination in Son La Province, have been making the rounds in travel groups, quickly drawing the attention of visitors.

Inspired by the stunning images shared online, many travelers are making plans to visit Ta Xua and catch the flowers in full bloom.

The garden covers about 1,000 square meters on a hillside, offering a 'million-dollar view' of the dinosaur spine ridge, with rugged mountain ranges stretching into the distance.

The delicate butterfly flowers set against the rugged grandeur of the northwestern mountains make the destination especially captivating.

Speaking to Tuoi Tre (Youth) online newspaper, Linh, a visitor from Son La, said she traveled 15 km from the commune center along a route with several difficult stretches to reach the trending flower garden.

But once she arrived and took in the view from the flower-covered hillside, she said the journey felt well worth it.

"The dinosaur spine is one of Ta Xua's iconic landmarks and a must-visit spot for cloud hunting. However, the road leading to the ridge has deteriorated recently, making it more difficult to access, so fewer tourists have been visiting," Linh said.

"From the commune center, it takes about 15 km, or around 40 minutes, to reach the flower garden. For the final 50 meters down to the hillside, visitors should take a local motorbike taxi because the road is narrow, unpaved, slippery and quite difficult to navigate," she said.

She also suggested that visitors wear bright or cheerful colors and pair their outfits with accessories such as straw hats, handbags and scarves for the best photos.

Recently, Ta Xua was named Asia's Leading Emerging Destination by the World Travel Awards.
