An Giang Province in southern Vietnam officially inaugurates a sports facility under the 'Youth Sports Spaces – Recharging Energy, Igniting Youth' project.

The initiative, titled 'Youth Sports Spaces – Recharging Energy, Igniting Youth,' was launched in 2024 in coordination with the Vietnam Youth Federation and the Vietnam National Volunteer Center.

It targets the construction of 20 modern, safe, and accessible sports facilities nationwide between 2024 and 2026.

In its first year, nine facilities were built in Thanh Hoa, Da Nang, Bac Giang, Can Tho, Dong Nai, Ho Chi Minh City, Nghe An, Bac Ninh, and Binh Duong.

Organizers said the projects were designed to provide convenient and inclusive recreational spaces for young people.

Six additional facilities were completed in 2025 in Tuyen Quang, Gia Lai, Da Nang, Hai Phong, Thai Nguyen, and An Giang, covering a combined area of nearly 7,000 square meters.

The sites include football and volleyball courts, pickleball courts, and outdoor fitness areas, serving both local youth and residents and creating community hubs for physical activity.

The program has so far provided sports and exercise opportunities for more than 30,000 young people and community members in Vietnam, helping to encourage regular physical activity and healthier daily habits.

Nguyen Kim Quy, standing vice-chairman of the Vietnam Youth Federation, said public sports facilities remain insufficient in many localities, particularly in remote areas.

"TCP Vietnam's partnership in implementing this project has helped turn the goal of safe, modern, and accessible sports spaces into reality for young people and local residents," Quy said.

"It also demonstrates the effectiveness of public-private cooperation in community initiatives and reflects corporate social responsibility toward the younger generation."

National football team striker Nguyen Tien Linh, a project ambassador and winner of Vietnam's Golden Ball award in 2024, said well-invested sports facilities can play a key role in strengthening grassroots sports movements.

"When infrastructure is properly developed, community sports can grow more strongly and help people build daily exercise habits," Linh said.

TCP Vietnam country director Nguyen Quang Hien Huy said the company views sports as more than a means to improve physical health.

"We believe sports help build resilience, determination, and perseverance among young Vietnamese," Huy said.

"The past two years are only the beginning.

"We will continue to support young people through meaningful projects that contribute to a physically strong and mentally resilient generation."

In 2026, TCP Vietnam plans to work with its partners to renovate and open five more sports spaces, completing the target of 20 facilities nationwide.

The company also said it intends to expand community-focused initiatives, with a continued emphasis on physical and mental well-being for Vietnamese youth.
