A still image taken from a video shows a security guard on Ho Chi Minh City’s first metro line being attacked by two teens, October 26, 2025.
The teen was identified as Pham Nhu Vu Bao, a resident of Cau Ong Lanh Ward.
Investigators are also continuing to collect evidence and build a case against N.H.T.K., a 15-year-old accomplice, in accordance with legal procedures.
According to the investigation, at around 5:00 pm on Sunday, while a train on the Ben Thanh - Suoi Tien metro line was en route to Saigon Hi-Tech Park Station, security guard T.H.N.M., a 23-year-old resident of Saigon Ward, reminded a female passenger, N.T.H. , a 33-year-old resident of Khanh Hoi Ward, not to rest her feet on a seat.
At that moment, Bao and K. allegedly rushed toward M. and struck him repeatedly until the train stopped at Thu Duc Station, where other passengers intervened and separated the parties.
Both attackers left the train at the station at the request of staff members.
All involved – M., Bao, K., and H. – were later taken to the Thu Duc Ward police station for questioning.
Police officers determined that the altercation began earlier when M. had lightly tapped the back of a young boy, about three years old, to ask him to stop shouting on the train.
The boy’s aunt, H., scolded M., accusing him of hitting her nephew.
Although M. apologized and said he was feeling unwell, H. told him to ‘go somewhere else.’
Shortly afterward, she placed her feet on a seat, prompting M. to remind her of the rules again, which led Bao and K. to physically attack him.
A medical examination found that M. sustained swelling around his left eye socket and right eyebrow, as well as a torn upper lip.
