This year’s festival theme of “Thailand’s Creative Economy” demonstrates Thailand’s commitment to modernization and innovation, while preserving the diversity of its cultural heritage, Thai Consul General in Ho Chi Minh City Wiraka Moodhitaporn stated in her remarks at the opening ceremony.
From fashion and cuisine to cinema and music, Thailand is harnessing the power of creativity and sustainable development to shape its future, she added.
The Thai Consul General also emphasized that this year's festival is not only a cultural event but also a timely and meaningful symbol of the deepening friendship and shared aspirations between Thailand and Vietnam.
She mentioned that during the recent official visit of Thai Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra, Thailand and Vietnam formally upgraded their bilateral relationship to a comprehensive strategic partnership – the highest level of cooperation that each country bestows upon its partners.
This reflects the profound trust and ever-expanding collaboration between the two nations.

“Today, we can proudly say that Vietnam and Thailand have continuously made efforts to strongly and substantially develop their bilateral relations in all dimensions; building a relationship of friendly cooperation based on mutual trust, mutual respect, equality, and benefit—contributing to peace, stability, and development in both regions and in the world,” Nguyen Thi Thanh Thuy, deputy director of the Department of Culture and Sports of Ho Chi Minh City, gave her remarks on stage.
The Ho Chi Minh City authorities highly appreciate the efforts of the Consul-General and the staff of the Royal Thai Consulate-General in Ho Chi Minh City in organizing the Thai Festival in Ho Chi Minh City 2025.
“The festival will provide the people of the city and visitors with the opportunity to experience the unique cultural values of beautiful Thailand, and strengthen mutual understanding and closer ties in economic and social development between Ho Chi Minh City and Thailand,” Thuy added.
The Thai Festival in Ho Chi Minh City 2025 will run through May 25, with free admission.
