On September 9, after the third episode of the battle round was broadcast, a video clip featuring a number of emails exchanging between several people thought to be Phuong Uyen and some of The Voice’s contestants has been spread among netizens at the speed of light.

Besides showing the close relationships between those people via the emails, the video also includes an audio file featuring a conversation between three people thought to be Phuong Uyen, the show’s producer Tuong Vy and contestant Phuong Linh about the battle performance of Linh and another contestant, H'Zina Bya.

In the conversation, the woman thought to be Phuong Uyen advises contestant Phuong Linh to choose kinds of music that her rival contestant can’t sing, like R&B or other English songs in order to confirm that no matter how well H'Zina Bya can sing, Linh will remain the person chosen to advance to the next round.

Moreover, the suspected Phuong Uyen reassures Phuong Linh that there’s nothing to worry about with her coach, singer Thu Minh, since Uyen is the one who has the right to decide everything.

At the conference, before expressing her wish to resign, musician Phuong Uyen gave apology to The Voice’ participants and explained that she has no right to decide who’s going to the next round, Vnexpress newswire reported.

“All things you’ve seen in the video are not like the way you think they are. I only have the right to consult and choose songs for performances,” she stated.

According to the newswire, the musician also admitted that the voice in the audio was hers but it was edited on purposes. “I was harmed and smeared by somebody. I’m so sorry for my impolite words,” she tearfully added.

For his part, besides confirming that there’s no arrangement on the contest’s result, Quang Minh also admitted that the information given in the clip is true but was also edited on purpose.

“We have proposed the Ho Chi Minh City Police Department to investigate who made the video,” he added.

Minh added that the company will continue to work with Phuong Uyen despite the resignation since she has worked very well as the show’s music director.

“People who make mistakes will fix them. I hope the journalists here can help to make audiences understand that I’m not like the person they’ve seen in the video,” Uyen shared. “I will stay with The Voice and prove who is the real me,” she concluded the conference.
