The luxury InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort in central Da Nang City has been selected to be the residence for world leaders attending the upcoming 2017 APEC Economic Leaders’ Week in Vietnam.

Running November 6-11 in Da Nang, the Economic Leaders’ Week is the culmination of Vietnam’s year-long hosting of meetings of Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC), a forum for 21 Pacific Rim countries that promotes free trade throughout the Asia-Pacific region.

According to the APEC Secretariat, 18 leaders of the group’s member economies have confirmed their attendance at the 25th edition of the APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting in Da Nang.

U.S. President Donald Trump, Russian President Vladimir Putin, and Chinese President are expected to be present at the Week in Da Nang.

The combined number of delegates and international reporters is estimated to be 10,000, making the forthcoming gathering one of the biggest ever held in terms of participation.

It marks the second time Vietnam has played host to the APEC since its entrance in 1998, having hosted the event previously in 2006.

Opened in 2012, the InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort is a resort and spa under the management of InterContinental Hotels Group in Vietnam.

It is located on Da Nang’s Son Tra Peninsula, and is about a 30-minute drive from Da Nang International Airport and the downtown area.

The 200-suite resort, designed by Harvard-educated architect Bill Bensley, occupies 39 hectares of the peninsula, including 700 meters of private beach.
