The fire broke out around 11:00 am on Tuesday in a protective forest in Trieu Co Commune and quickly spread to neighboring Vinh Dinh Commune due to scorching heat, dry vegetation, and strong winds, according to Doan Quang Dien, chairman of the Trieu Co administration.

Despite initial success in extinguishing the flames by late afternoon, embers reignited at around 8:00 pm, forcing crews to fight through the night.

The provincial military command sent hundreds of soldiers and border guard units to help suppress the fire and protect surrounding forest areas.

In total, thousands of personnel were involved in the firefighting effort.
