Thousands of dietary supplement boxes dumped on outskirts of Ho Chi Minh City

At noon on Friday, Tuoi Tre (Youth) newspaper correspondents found such a huge volume of dietary supplement boxes dumped along a roadside near Nguyen Van Linh Street in Phong Phu Commune of Binh Chanh.

Around 10 different supplement brands scattered across the site, with many still in sealed boxes or intact packaging.

Most items, which appeared to be well-known names in the supplement market, are labeled for both adults and children and are marked with expiration dates extending into 2027 and 2028.

Some boxes were strewn among weeds, while others were left in full cartons, suggesting they were disposed of in bulk, according to a local official.

Local authorities confirmed receiving reports from residents and social media posts regarding the incident.

The commune’s administration and local police are working to inspect the situation.

The municipal Department of Health’s Inspectorate has also acknowledged the case and is working with other agencies for further clarification.

Earlier in the day, social media users shared photos and videos showing a three-wheeled vehicle dumping boxes labeled with foreign-brand supplements at a vacant lot.

These posts quickly went viral, attracting tens of thousands of views, shares, and comments.
