Zhao, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, will make the visit at the invitation of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee and National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man, said the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
While in Hanoi, Zhao will attend the National Day celebrations and co-chair the first session of the cooperation committee between the Vietnamese National Assembly and the Chinese National People's Congress.
This will be Zhao’s first official visit to Vietnam since assuming his position as top Chinese legislator.
His trip comes at a time when Vietnam-China relations are maintaining positive momentum, with both sides achieving significant progress.
In 2025, the two countries mark the 75th anniversary of diplomatic ties.
This year has already seen high-level exchanges, including a phone call on January 15 between Vietnamese Party General Secretary To Lam and Chinese Party General Secretary and President Xi Jinping, launching the 2025 Vietnam-China Year of People-to-People Exchanges.
Xi also paid a state visit to Vietnam on April 14-15, marking his fourth state visit to the Southeast Asian country.
Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh will travel to China’s Tianjin to attend the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Summit as a guest of the host country and engage in other activities from Sunday to Monday.
