Major roads such as Ten Lua, Phan Huy Ich, Ho Hoc Lam, and Sinco were inundated, with water rising high enough to stall both motorbikes and cars.

Many commuters were forced to wade through knee-deep floodwater, pushing their broken-down vehicles to safety.

On Vo Van Kiet Boulevard, traffic came to a standstill for kilometers between Lo Gom Bridge and the Ho Ngoc Lam intersection in An Lac Ward.

By 6:00 pm, rain continued to fall heavily, leaving long lines of stranded vehicles as drivers sought shelter on higher ground.

The storm also toppled several large trees.

In Binh Phu and Lo Gom Parks along Nguyen Van Luong Street in Binh Phu Ward, uprooted trees prompted an emergency response to clear debris and reopen pedestrian areas.

Data from the Southern Hydrometeorological Center showed rainfall totals reaching 166.8 millimeters at Pham Van Coi Station, 91.2 millimeters in An Phu, 73 millimeters in Hoc Mon, and 70.8 millimeters in Binh Chanh.

By 7:30 pm, flooding had worsened on Ma Lo Street near Binh Tan General Hospital in Binh Tri Dong Ward, where local military personnel were dispatched to direct traffic and assist with stalled vehicles.
