Under the Labor Code, public employees are entitled to one day off for Hung Kings’ Commemoration Day and two days for the Reunification Day and International Workers’ Day holiday.
In 2026, the Hung Kings holiday, which falls on the 10th day of the third lunar month, coincides with Sunday, April 26.
Workers will receive a compensatory day off on Monday, April 27, resulting in a three-day break from April 25 to April 27.
For the Reunification Day and International Workers’ Day holiday, the two official days off fall on Thursday and Friday. Combined with the weekend, workers will have a four-day break from April 30 to May 3.
My Khanh Tourist Village will organize a specialty festival during the holiday period to treat visitors to live demonstrations of traditional cakes such as banh xeo (Vietnamese sizzling cake), banh duc (Vietnamese type of savory rice pudding) and banh bo (honeycomb cake).
Visitors can also immerse themselves in the Mekong Delta region’s signature waterways culture through the recreated floating fruit market.
Alongside these cultural offerings are folk games including pig and dog racing and canoe paddling.
For young visitors, the site has expanded with modern attractions such as a Go-Kart track, rainbow slide and glass bridge.
Nguyen Huu Hoang, deputy director of My Khanh Tourist Village, said the site is offering free entry tickets for tour groups arranged by tour operators that book lunch or dinner during the holiday.
Individual visitors can receive a 50-percent discount on entrance fees when booking meals for groups of 10 or more, while one-day combo packages for sightseeing and entertainment are discounted by 15-20 percent.
Elsewhere, Cantho Eco Resort has launched early-booking promotions, cutting 20 percent off entrance tickets to its Eco Wonderland, team-building activities and Eco Safari zoo visits.
Overnight guests can enjoy discounts ranging from 15 to 25 percent.
Adding to the city’s tourism appeal during the holiday is a small-scale river cruise experience.
Operated by Tan Dai Phong Construction, Trading and Production Company, the service features boats accommodating 9 to 12 passengers and offers curated itineraries.
Options include a visit to Cai Rang Floating Market, short one-hour city tours, three-hour excursions to islets such as Con Au and Con Son, and longer eco-tours.
Evening city cruises are also available.

Nguyen Thanh Phong, director of the company, said that all cruise services will be discounted by 20 percent during the holiday period, with no additional charges for guests bringing their own food and beverages onboard.
Meanwhile, food lovers can explore the Southern Folk Cake Festival, running from April 26 to May 1 at Binh Thuy Square.
The festival will showcase hundreds of traditional cakes, with dedicated spaces for artisans to demonstrate techniques and share culinary heritage from across southern Vietnam.
