In an official message addressed to the Vietnamese President, Trump commended the strength and resilience of the Vietnamese people, highlighting the deepening ties under the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership framework established between Washington and Hanoi.
"The United States values its flourishing partnership with Vietnam, particularly through progress made under the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership and our shared commitment to peace, prosperity, and stability across the Indo-Pacific region," Trump said in the message, released by the U.S. Embassy in Hanoi on Tuesday evening.
The U.S. president also commended Vietnam's expanding international role, specifically citing its position as a founding member supporting the Board of Peace, and expressed expectations for further bilateral cooperation on regional security and economic issues.
