On May 22, chairman of the municipal People's Committee Nguyen Van Duoc and vice-chairman Hoan are also scheduled to host a meeting with leaders of the Trump Organization.
According to a document from the Ho Chi Minh City Department of External Relations, Kinh Bac City Development Holding Corporation and Saigon Invest Group have been involved in promoting the Trump Vietnam project in Ho Chi Minh City and previously met with city leaders in March this year.
During this visit, the delegation will be divided into two groups. Group 1, led by Charles James Boyd Bowman, director of the Trump International Hung Yen project, will arrive in the city on May 19.
Group 2, led by Eric Trump, Executive Vice President of the Trump Organization and son of U.S. President Donald Trump, will arrive on May 22.
The delegation is expected to visit the Thu Thiem area to survey the planned site for the Trump Tower and wishes to engage in discussions with city leaders regarding this project.
Previously, Vietnam’s Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha signed a decision approving a US$1.5 billion urban, eco-tourism, and golf complex led by the Trump Organization in the northern province of Hung Yen.
The Trump Organization, founded in 1927 and headquartered in New York, is owned by the family of U.S. President Donald Trump.
The Trump Organization had expressed interest in investing in this project with Hung Yen authorities since September 2024, prior to Donald Trump's victory in the U.S. presidential election late last year.
The complex will include two eco-residential areas featuring ecological golf courses accommodating a combined population of 5,300.
Additionally, it will have a commercial urban services area for 29,700 people, green spaces, themed parks, and a social housing area.
The project is expected to begin in the second quarter of 2025 and be completed by the second quarter of 2029, with an operational period of 50 years.
