During the talks, Guler thanked Vietnam’s Ministry of National Defense for sending a high-level delegation to attend the exhibition.

Thang, in turn, praised the scale, reputation, and professional organization of the May 5-9 event.

The Vietnamese deputy minister said Vietnam highly values Turkey’s role and standing internationally and regionally, describing Turkey as one of Vietnam’s leading partners in the region.

Defense cooperation between both countries has recently expanded across several areas, including high-level delegation exchanges, the establishment of resident defense attaché offices in both countries, deputy minister-level defense policy dialogue mechanisms, defense industry cooperation, military trade, and training programs.

The Vietnamese official expressed hope that Turkey’s defense ministry would continue directing agencies to deepen cooperation through more high-level visits, effective implementation of defense policy dialogue mechanisms, expanded training collaboration, and stronger defense industry and military trade ties.

Thang also conveyed an invitation from Vietnamese Defense Minister General Phan Van Giang for Guler and Turkish defense companies to attend the third Vietnam International Defense Expo, scheduled for December this year.

Guler confirmed that Turkey will send a delegation and major defense industry enterprises to participate in the exhibition.

He described Vietnam as an important partner in the Asia-Pacific region and expressed hope that bilateral defense ties would continue developing in a broader, deeper, and more practical direction.

Guler confirmed Turkey’s willingness to support Vietnam in defense-related sectors such as shipbuilding, equipment upgrades, maintenance, and technology transfer.

He also expressed hope to welcome Vietnam’s Defense Minister Phan Van Giang to Turkey soon.

On the same day, Thang and the Vietnamese delegation visited exhibition booths operated by Turkish defense giants MKE and Aselsan.

The Vietnamese deputy minister praised the two companies for their leading roles in manufacturing weapons, ammunition, explosives, military equipment, advanced defense electronics, naval and air force systems, radar technologies, and guided missile systems.

He proposed several measures aimed at boosting defense industry cooperation between Turkish firms and Vietnamese partners.

He also invited executives from both companies to showcase their products at the Vietnam International Defense Expo later this year.

Representatives from the two Turkish companies said they hope to expand cooperation with Vietnamese defense enterprises in sectors considered both strategically important and commercially promising.
