Tan Nhut Commune police said officers on patrol with local security forces discovered two separate cases of illegal dumping along Nguyen Cuu Phu Street late on Thursday night.
Authorities said one man was caught dumping durian husks on vacant land near the road at about 9:00 pm, while another man was found disposing of garbage at the same location about 30 minutes later.
Both men admitted to dumping waste in unauthorized areas, police said.

Authorities issued administrative violation records against the two individuals and fined each VND1.5 million (US$57), while also requiring them to remove the waste and restore the area.
Tan Nhut Commune police said patrols would be increased along roads and vacant lots where illegal dumping frequently occurs in order to prevent environmental pollution and maintain urban cleanliness.
