The service includes a stop in Hong Kong and links Vietnam’s largest city with Los Angeles and San Francisco.

Saigon Ground Services (SAGS) handled United flight UA152 from Hong Kong, which landed at Tan Son Nhat International Airport on Sunday night, and the outbound UA153 from Ho Chi Minh City to Hong Kong early on Monday.

The route operates daily using Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners, each accommodating about 300 passengers.

United Airlines was the first U.S. carrier to fly to Vietnam following the 2003 bilateral air transport agreement, launching its inaugural Ho Chi Minh City service in December 2004.

The route was suspended in 2017.

United is currently the only U.S. airline operating flights to Ho Chi Minh City.

SAGS, with more than two decades of experience in Vietnam’s aviation industry, remains the carrier’s ground service partner for the resumed route.
