The chairman of the municipal People’s Committee has approved a proposal allowing Khang Dien House Trading and Investment JSC to finance and implement renovation works at seven major roads, traffic intersections, and public works.
These include the square in front of Ben Thanh Market, Phu Dong Intersection Roundabout, Ho Con Rua (Turtle Lake), and Nguyen Hue, Dong Khoi, Ham Nghi and Hai Ba Trung Streets.
Construction was scheduled to begin on Saturday and conclude by February 10, or the 23rd day of the twelfth lunar month.
According to the embellishment plan endorsed by the municipal Department of Construction, each site will undergo specific upgrades tailored to its existing character and urban function.

At the square area in front of Ben Thanh Market, the exterior walls of the historic market building will be repainted, while its original architectural lines and decorative motifs will be preserved.
Damaged exterior lighting systems will be replaced.
Nearby buildings, including the Saigon Railway Transport JSC headquarters and the building at 181 Ham Nghi Street opposite the market, will also have their façades repainted in their existing color schemes.
Road markings, pedestrian pathways, and decorative elements within the square area and surrounding intersections will be refreshed.
At Turtle Lake, the central tower will be repainted in a brighter color palette, such as white or light grey.
Road markings and curbs will be repainted.
Other renovation components include planting trees, cleaning sidewalks, repainting tree planters, and refreshing the façades of several surrounding buildings.

Phu Dong Roundabout will see the statue of Phu Dong Thien Vuong repainted in its current colors, along with renewed road markings, curbs, and newly planted greenery.
Along Nguyen Hue, Dong Khoi, and Hai Ba Trung Streets, selected buildings lining these major corridors will have their façades repainted to enhance the overall streetscape.
On Ham Nghi Street, in addition to repainting certain buildings, road markings, curbs, and concrete pedestrian walkways will be upgraded.
