In an online media session with the Vietnamese press on Tuesday, Derulo said he was excited about his first visit to Vietnam and looked forward to experiencing local cuisine.
The GAMA Music Racing Festival, set to be held at Saigon Riverside Park on June 28, combines live music with motorsports and features a star-studded lineup.
The event marks the first time the American singer will perform in Vietnam.
Derulo, 35, has nearly 200 million followers across social platforms, over 18.2 billion global music streams since launching his solo career in 2009, and more than 250 million singles sold worldwide.
Known for blending genres such as R&B, dancehall, and Latin, he has released 15 platinum-certified hits, including ‘Savage Love,’ which topped the Billboard Hot 100 in 2020 and multiple international charts.
Outside music, Derulo shared his passion for supercars and business, owning a US$1.2 million car collection and a $2 billion investment in a car wash chain.
Derulo said he was excited to perform in Vietnam and noted that the title of his new song, ‘You DJ, I’ll Drive,’ aligns with the festival’s theme.
He also previewed ‘The Last Dance World Tour,’ which will begin in January 2026, calling it a major milestone and adding that acting and film are part of his future goals.
