US-Singapore joint venture unveils soybean crushing expansion project in Ho Chi Minh City

The new line, located in the Phu My 1 Industrial Park, adds 4,000 metric tons of daily processing capacity, bringing VAL’s total to 7,800 metric tons per day when combined with its first line, which has been operating since 2011.

Backed by a total investment of more than US$100 million, the new line has been built to leading international standards and incorporates advanced automation systems as well as real-time monitoring and quality control technologies.

VAL said the system is designed to maximize operational efficiency, reduce energy consumption, and ensure consistent product quality while meeting environmental requirements.

Once running at full capacity, the two lines will process up to 2.6 million metric tons of soybeans and produce nearly two million metric tons of soybean meal annually, supplying about 30 percent of Vietnam’s animal feed demand.

The commissioning of the new line is a strategic step to meet rising demand and reflects the company’s commitment to driving modern, sustainable and self-reliant growth in the livestock sector, according to VAL.

The company is also expected to produce more than 500,000 metric tons of crude soybean oil each year, serving both domestic users and overseas buyers.

This output strengthens Vietnam’s position among Southeast Asia’s leading soybean oil exporters, including in major markets such as South Korea.

Nguyen Cong Vinh, deputy chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City administration, said the inauguration reflects growing confidence among international investors in the city’s strong and stable development prospects.

He added that VAL is expected to feature modern production technology that meets strict environmental standards and aligns with the city’s high-tech agricultural development goals.
