For more than 30 years, this small alley at 121 Le Thanh Nghi Street in Hanoi has served as a home away from home for generations of kidney failure patients.
"I've been renting a room here for 17 or 18 years," Le Thi Hoai, a patient from Thanh Hoa Province, northern Vietnam, said.
"The neighbors around me are also dialysis patients, so we understand each other's situation. When someone feels weak or exhausted, we help one another," she added.
For 30 years, time in this Hanoi alley has been measured in dialysis sessions
