Video of husband assaulting wife draws public anger in Vietnam

The video, circulated on social media on Monday, appeared to show domestic violence when the husband repeatedly grabs his wife by her hair and violently strikes her outside the house.

Even after the woman falls onto the ground, he drags her inside and continues the assault while she is unable to defend herself.

Noticeably, the incident reportedly unfolded in front of a child.

The clip, believed to have been captured by a home security camera and lasting over a minute, is said to show what happened in a household in Phu Khe Ward, northern Bac Ninh Province.

Many people have expressed outrage and strongly condemned the man’s act, calling on authorities to promptly verify and take appropriate action.

On Monday, police in Phu Khe Ward summoned the two individuals for questioning following the incident.

The wife said that the incident originated from a domestic dispute and that she did not suffer from any severe injuries.

She also declined to pursue legal action against her husband, saying she had posted the video in the 'moment of frustration.'

Authorities said they have worked with local officials to warn and educate the husband, aiming to prevent similar acts of domestic violence from recurring.
