The exercise, which involved pilots and instructors reviewing the airspace and surrounding topography, is part of broader training and coordination efforts between units ahead of a planned military parade and flypast, military officials said.

According to Regiment 940, all scheduled flights during Monday’s operation were completed safely and met training objectives.

Personnel were deployed early to the airfield, following standard procedures and safety protocols.

The unit said it had developed detailed flight safety plans and assigned specific responsibilities to participating teams.

Pilots and commanders reviewed airport procedures, emergency response plans, and alternate landing options.

Earlier, on July 24, eight Yak-130 aircraft from Regiment 940 were transferred from Phu Cat Airbase, located in former Binh Dinh Province, which has been merged into the expanded Gia Lai Province.

The aircraft were moved to Kep Airfield to prepare for the National Day parade.

The flypast, scheduled for September 2 to commemorate the 80th anniversary of Vietnam’s August Revolution and National Day, will involve nine formations and approximately 30 aircraft, including helicopters, Yak-130, L-39NG, C295, C212i, and Su-30MK2 fighters.

Flights will operate from three airfields: Hoa Lac and Gia Lam in Hanoi, and Kep in Bac Ninh Province.

The Division 371 leadership described the operation as one of the largest and most complex air exercises the unit has undertaken.
