The inauguration ceremony took place on Sunday, with the participation of officials from Vietnam Airlines, local government, and the Nha Trang-Khanh Hoa Tourism Association.
The inaugural flight, VN435, operated by an Airbus A321 aircraft, carried 186 passengers and landed at Cam Ranh International Airport at 11:20 am the same day.
To mark the occasion, a welcoming ceremony was held, featuring a water cannon salute, gift presentations to passengers, traditional Vietnamese cultural performances, and souvenir photo sessions.
Following the first flight, the Busan-Cam Ranh route is being operated daily using Airbus A321 aircraft.
The daily direct route is also a key part of the airline's plan to launch and restore 15 international air routes in 2025.
Currently, the national flag carrier runs flights between major tourism and economic hubs of Vietnam—such as Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, and Nha Trang—and South Korea’s two key cities, Seoul and Busan.
South Korea now stands as Khanh Hoa's largest source of international visitors, accounting for approximately 50 percent of the province’s foreign tourist arrivals.
In the first four months of 2025, the province welcomed over 812,800 South Korean tourists, a 6.5-percent increase compared to the same period last year.
Khanh Hoa, with its capital Nha Trang, is known for its beaches such as Tran Phu, Bai Dai, and Doc Let, and islands like Hon Mun and Hon Tam.
Visitors can also explore cultural landmarks such as the ancient Po Nagar Cham Towers, Long Son Pagoda, and Thap Ba Hot Springs.
