They announced on Wednesday that they had returned the belongings worth more than VND150 million ($5,716) to the foreign passenger.
On March 5, security officers on patrol at Terminal 1 at the airport found a white backpack that had been abandoned.
Inside were valuables including $5,000, nearly 40,000 rupees, a mobile phone, and personal documents.
Authorities later identified the owner as P.A., an Indian tourist who had traveled from Da Nang to Ho Chi Minh City before returning to India.
Airport security officers then coordinated with the airline and relevant parties to hand over the belongings to the passenger’s representative.

In January, police at Da Nang International Airport also returned a diamond ring left behind by a passenger.
On January 18, T.H.D.L., a traveler on a flight from Da Nang to Ho Chi Minh City, accidentally left the ring in a security tray at the domestic terminal during screening.
She realized the loss only after the plane had taken off and later contacted the tour staff for assistance.
Airport security reviewed the system, located the ring, and safely returned it to the passenger.
