Chau Hung Ky, chairman of the Kien Hai Special Zone People's Committee, said the administration had received a report from the Nam Du Border Guard Station on the incident at the Hai Bo Dap tourist site.
Ky said local authorities had instructed relevant enforcement agencies to inspect the site and strictly handle any violations.
He said authorities would also inspect and rectify unauthorized or non-compliant construction on the island to restore construction order and improve tourism safety.
According to preliminary information, the accident occurred on Tuesday when N.V.C., the manager of the Hai Bo Dap tourist site, was operating a speedboat towing a parasail for visitors.
During the activity, the tow rope snapped, injuring a tourist identified as H., who was later taken to hospital for treatment.
The accident followed another parasailing incident at the same site on May 4, when two tourists were left suspended in the air after bad weather developed during a flight.
Following the earlier incident, Kien Hai authorities inspected the business and required it to suspend parasailing operations, but the operator continued offering the service despite the commitment.
