Striker Pham Hai Yen opened the scoring in first-half stoppage time, finishing a through ball from Nguyen Thi Bich Thuy with a first-time shot past Thai goalkeeper Pawarisa Homyamyen.
Thailand continued to press in the second half, but goalkeeper Tran Thi Kim Thanh delivered several key saves.

Substitutes Nguyen Thi Van and Ngan Thi Van Su added pace and creativity, helping Vietnam break open the game.
In the 65th minute, Van set up captain Huynh Nhu, who scored on a rebound after her initial shot was saved.
It was Nhu’s first goal for the national team in two years.

Three minutes later, Bich Thuy volleyed in a long pass to make it 3-0.
Thailand pulled one back in the 87th minute through Wirunya Kwenkasikum, but it was too late to change the outcome.

Australia’s under‑23 team beat Myanmar 1-0 in the final to win the championship.
