Vietnam, Cambodia to hold 2nd border defense friendship exchange next month

A Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense delegation led by Deputy Ministers Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien and Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Truong Thang visited the Vietnam-Cambodia border area in Tay Ninh on Tuesday to inspect preparations for the event.

The two-day exchange is slated for November 13 and 14, featuring activities such as joint medical drills, cultural exchanges, and the inauguration of community projects.

Since July this year, delegations from both countries have conducted joint surveys to select venues and finalize logistical arrangements.

During this inspection, the Vietnamese delegation visited the Moc Bai international border gate in Tay Ninh’s Ben Cau Commune, where welcoming and farewell ceremonies for senior defense leaders from both nations will be held.

They also observed a joint military medical drill at the Ben Cau Public Service Center, simulating a coordinated disaster relief operation involving both sides.

Another key activity will be the inauguration of a semi-boarding classroom for border-area students at Ben Cau Elementary School, a project funded by the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense.

At each location, Senior Lieutenant General Chien meticulously reviewed preparations, reminded units of protocol requirements, and assigned specific responsibilities to ensure the event proceeds smoothly, solemnly, and safely.
