Vietnam took the first set 22–16 before coming from behind in the second, rallying from 18–20 to win 25–20 and seal a two-set victory.
The result marked the team's third straight continental championship, following titles in 2022 and 2023, equaling Thailand’s record of three.
The tournament is held every two years, but the 2021 edition was postponed to 2022 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
China, which won in 2019, and Japan, which claimed the title in 2004, are the only other teams to have won the tournament.
Vietnam went unbeaten throughout the competition without dropping a set, repeating its dominant run from the 2023 edition.
Head coach Huynh Minh Ngon’s squad also secured a spot at the 2026 IHF Women’s Beach Handball World Championship as one of Asia’s top two finishers.
Vietnam finished 13th in 2022 and ninth in 2024 at the world level.
The 2025 roster featured players primarily from Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi, including Ha Thi Hanh, who played a key role in the comeback during the final.
The team trained for the tournament at the National Sports Training Center in Ho Chi Minh City.
