Heavy rain, strong waves, and storm surges pushed massive amounts of sand from the beach onto Ho Xuan Huong Street, a key road along the Sam Son shoreline, disrupting traffic and causing sanitation issues.
Local authorities mobilized machinery and hundreds of personnel to remove the sand and transport it back to the beach.

“As of now, the majority of the sand has been cleared and returned to Sam Son Beach, helping to restore traffic flow and public order,” said Dang Anh Duc, chief of the Sam Son Ward People’s Committee Office.
In addition to the sand removal, clean-up crews also collected and disposed of roughly 1,400 cubic meters of waste, including fallen trees and storm debris, left behind by storm Bualoi.

Authorities said clean-up operations are continuing to remove remaining sand and waste from sidewalks and residential areas.
Local officials are also working to restore tourism infrastructure along the beach to prepare for the return of visitors.

Storm Bualoi struck Vietnam’s northern‑central region late September, triggering heavy rains, flooding, and landslides.
In Thanh Hoa Province’s Nong Cong Commune alone, over 3,000 households were swamped by floods.
