Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) vice-president Tran Anh Tu raised the issue with Minister of Culture, Sports, and Tourism Nguyen Van Hung during the minister’s visit to the delegation on Tuesday.
Tu said meals offered to the women’s national football team in Chonburi were insufficient and training sites were far from their hotel.
The women’s futsal team, which arrived on Wednesday, received boxed lunches for two days containing rice, vegetables, egg, and a small amount of meat, officials said.
Players also reported limited options at hotel buffet dinners.

The U22 men’s football team and the women’s national football team also reported restricted buffet selections.
The VFF has directed logistics staff to buy beef, salmon, and other ingredients to prepare extra meals at team hotels and has ordered food from Vietnamese restaurants in Bangkok after a complaint to the organizers failed to improve the situation.
The Games run from December 9 to 20 and feature athletes from 11 countries.
Vietnam has sent 1,165 delegation members and is aiming for 80-100 gold medals.
Previously, the women’s national football team also experienced food insufficiency at the 2019 SEA Games in the Philippines.
