The event was attended by Phoutphanh Keovongxay, deputy governor of Houaphanh Province, representatives of relevant Vietnamese and Laotian agencies, and local officials and residents, according to the Vietnam News Agency.

The project has a total investment of VND146.4 billion (US$5.6 million), including VND138.6 billion ($5.3 million) in non-refundable aid from the Vietnamese government and the remainder from the Laotian government as counterpart funding.

Designed with modern technology, the station will feature a 3kW digital television transmitter using DTMB and DVB-T2 standards on UHF channel 35, and a 5kW FM transmitter operating at 104 MHz.

The facility will comprise three sections: a broadcasting complex with a transmitter building and a 75-meter antenna tower; a production and editing block including offices, recording studios, and post-production rooms; and auxiliary facilities such as power systems, gardens, lightning protection, and a modern fire prevention system.

Speaking at the ceremony, Keovongxay said the project is one of the key cooperation initiatives between the Laotian and Vietnamese governments, playing an important role in the province’s development.

He expressed deep gratitude to the Party and government of Vietnam for their valuable financial support.

He emphasized that the project not only carries socio-economic significance but also stands as a vivid symbol of the great friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between the two Parties, states, and peoples of Laos and Vietnam.

He affirmed that the province would closely direct and coordinate with the project management unit and contractors to ensure the project is implemented according to design, with high quality, efficiency, and on schedule.

Once completed and put into operation, the station will help strengthen Houaphanh’s communication infrastructure, ensuring the fast, accurate, and transparent delivery of information.

It will also serve as an effective channel for disseminating the Party’s and state's policies while providing diverse and practical information to local residents.
