Instead of selecting an established designer to launch the event as it traditionally has, organizers have chosen to hand the opening spotlight to an emerging designer.

Opening this season's event is Moi Dien Studio, founded by Vietnamese designer Tom Trandt Minh Dao, a graduate of Parsons School of Design in New York City.

With 10 years in the industry, Tom Trandt has built his career around sustainable fashion, transforming leftover fabrics, deadstock materials, and production waste into one-of-a-kind designs.

His distinctive creative mindset and commitment to developing a unique identity have helped shape his signature style.

At this season’s event, Tom Trandt will unveil "Nguon," a collection carrying a message for younger generations to confidently embrace and rediscover their authentic identities.

The designs continue to focus on materials, cuts, and silhouettes to create new structures.

After 20 seasons, the Vietnam International Fashion Week has built a platform that organizers say has helped shape an identity and strengthen the position of Vietnamese fashion on the global stage.

Representatives from the organizing board said the event not only celebrates identity values but also serves as a voice for the next generation, from models and fashion icons to designers and anyone expressing themselves through fashion.

They said younger generations would bring fresh energy and new perspectives to Vietnam’s fashion scene.

The Spring/Summer 2026 edition of Vietnam International Fashion Week will run from June 18 to 21 at Nguyen Du Stadium at 116 Nguyen Du Street in Ben Thanh Ward.
