From sweeping drone shots of terraced rice fields to street food scenes and seaside adventures, TikTokers from all over the world are using the trend to celebrate Vietnam in all its vibrant diversity.

'We are answering!'

Among the top videos of the trend, Jihane and Julian from @tripsofjj racked up over 117,000 views with a vibrant eight-second compilation of their journey through Vietnam, from Bui Vien Walking Street in Ho Chi Minh City to a basket boat ride in Hoi An, the Dragon Bridge in Da Nang, the scenic landscapes of Ninh Binh, and the picturesque rice field in Sa Pa.

Their video, captioned 'Vietnam is calling and we are answering!', also highlights the food they enjoyed along the way, including banh mi, goi cuon (fresh spring rolls), and milk coffee.

In the comments, the content creators revealed this was their second visit to Vietnam and that they “will be back for sure.”

Another video from @parmersss, which is shorter but an even bigger hit with over 3.2 million views, simply shows two visitors dancing at the airport with passports in hand, eagerly ready for their trip to Vietnam.

Some trending videos also appear to be from Vietnamese creators bringing their international friends to visit their home country, with captions like 'Motherland is calling us back.'

What is calling in Vietnam?

“In Vietnam, there is so much beauty and culture to explore [sic], we are coming for that!” Jihane and Julian wrote in the comment section of their viral TikTok video.

In another comment, they added, “Vietnam makes us happy!”

When a viewer asked, “How do you feel when traveling in Vietnam?”, the creator replied, “I feel like I should stay forever. I’m happy for everything I could see and how welcoming people are. Also sad because I have to leave.”

According to the Vietnam National Authority of Tourism (VNAT), thanks to relaxed visa policies, effective promotional campaigns, and tourism stimulus programs, the Southeast Asian country welcomed nearly 10.7 million international arrivals in the first half of the year, reaching almost 49 percent of the full-year growth target for 2025.

Starting from August 15, 2023, Vietnam grants e-visas to citizens of all countries and territories, allowing a 90-day stay with multiple entries.

Meanwhile, citizens of 13 countries enjoying unilateral visa exemption can stay in Vietnam for up to 45 days.

In a story titled '10 Reasons You’ll Love Vietnam' published on its official website, the VNAT offers a glimpse into what attract visitors to the country.

These include the incredible local food, the warmth and hard work of its people, and the diversity of destinations across the nation.

Also on the list are Vietnam’s addictive coffee culture, second-to-none scenery, rich history found around every corner, scenic motorcycle rides, energetic and youthful cities, authentic adventures, and reputation as one of the safest places to visit.

Of course, no list can fully capture what the country means to each traveler.

But in the age of social media, trends like 'Vietnam is calling' offer flashes into the everyday beauty that keeps travelers coming back, and it can be anything from a hot bowl of pho, a quiet mountain road, or a warm smile from a stranger.

Through every short video and heartfelt caption, Vietnam does not just call, it connects.

The country continues to call, and the world is answering.
