The 2026 competition, centered around 'Build Together,' was launched at Vidacity under Singapore’s Ministry of Digital Development and Information on Saturday.

The event is part of efforts to expand the competition’s international reach and strengthen Vietnam-Singapore cooperation in data, artificial intelligence, science and technology, and innovation.

Data for Life is organized by Vietnam’s Ministry of Public Security to identify and promote ideas, products, and technology solutions that use data to address practical problems and serve people, businesses, and society.

This year’s competition places a stronger emphasis on collaboration and aims to connect universities, research institutes, businesses, technology experts, and startup communities across ASEAN.

At the launch, an AI Singapore representative highlighted opportunities for closer cooperation between the two countries, citing Singapore’s active AI research and development ecosystem and Vietnam’s growing demand for data and technology applications.

The two sides see potential to connect researchers, universities, businesses, and experts and help bring technology initiatives from research into testing and practical use.

The Singapore launch would also help introduce Data for Life 2026 to the international technology and innovation community and create new cooperation networks between Vietnam and Singapore.

Organizers hope the competition will attract students, researchers, startups, businesses, and technology experts in Singapore and generate solutions that can be implemented and scaled up.

The initiative also seeks ideas that can use data and technology to tackle common challenges across ASEAN and contribute to digital transformation and socio-economic development.
