In addition, the head coach and the players were awarded VND1 billion by Pham Hoanh Son, chairman of Hong Linh Ha Tinh Football Club.
Also, VND500 million ($19,000) from a sponsor was given to the team.
The team had previously received VND600 million ($22,800) from the VFF after beating Malaysia’s under-22 team in the final group-stage match, and VND500 million ($19,000) following their semi-final win over the Philippines.
As of Friday morning, the total bonus awarded to the team had stood at VND3.6 billion ($136,800), a figure that is expected to rise further in the coming days.
Under state regulations, each athlete winning a SEA Games gold medal is entitled to an additional VND45 million ($1,710) in individual rewards.
With the national men’s teams claiming three major titles in 2025, head coach Kim Sang Sik is also likely to receive a separate personal commendation.
Earlier this year, he guided Vietnam’s national teams to win the trophies at the ASEAN Championship and the ASEAN U23 Championship.
