The data showed total searches across the top 1,000 football-related keywords reached 16.6 million from the start of the tournament through the group stage.
The tourney began in Mexico, the U.S., and Canada on June 12 and will conclude on July 20, featuring 48 teams, with the group stage completed on Sunday.
Users in Vietnam mainly searched for real-time information, including standings with 4.9 million searches accounting for 29.4 percent, matchups with 4.4 million searches accounting for 26.4 percent, and schedules with two million searches representing 12.1 percent.
‘World Cup 2026 schedule’ was the most searched football keyword overall.
Lionel Messi was the most searched player during the group stage.
He was followed by Cristiano Ronaldo, Neymar Jr, Erling Haaland, Kylian Mbappe, and Lamine Yamal.
Traffic to streaming platforms also increased sharply.
VTVgo rose 812 percent, TV360 increased 126 percent, and FPT Play gained 88 percent compared with the month before the tournament.
