Vietnam police arrest 2 South Koreans wanted by Interpol

Khanh Hoa Police said on Thursday that they had coordinated with relevant units to arrest the two individuals subject to red notices issued by Interpol and hand them over to South Korean authorities.

While reviewing the residence status of foreign nationals in the area, the Immigration Management Division under Khanh Hoa Police found that the South Korean nationals, Lee Sangmin, 32, and Ku Dae Hun, 38, had committed immigration violations.

The police later determined that both Lee Sangmin and Ku Dae Hun were subject to Interpol red notices.

According to police, Lee Sangmin has been wanted since late June 2022 on allegations that he was the leader of a scam ring in South Korea.

The gang allegedly called and texted numerous people, persuading them to install remote-control applications on their phones.

They then used the applications to withdraw tens of millions of won from victims' bank accounts (10 million won = US$6,959).

Meanwhile, Ku Dae Hun has been wanted since January 2026 for allegedly receiving money in exchange for providing bank accounts and technical equipment to criminal groups that lured victims into financial investment schemes promising high returns.
