The suspect, named Huang Yue, was a member of an international criminal organization involved in large-scale scams and asset misappropriation, according to police officers.

Huang was issued an arrest warrant by the People's Court of Yiwu City in Zhejiang Province, China for fraud-related charges.

However, he fled China in August 2020 and was officially placed on Interpol’s red notice list on November 23, 2021.

Following an investigation, Khanh Hoa police discovered that Huang had been residing in a building on Pham Van Dong Street in Bac Nha Trang Ward, Khanh Hoa Province.

On Friday morning, the provincial police arrested him.

By midday, he was escorted and handed over to Chinese authorities at the Huu Nghi International Border Gate in Lang Son Province, northern Vietnam in accordance with Vietnamese law and diplomatic protocols.
