Earlier, officers found a foreign man who appeared to be unwell and was resting near Sa Pa Church on Wednesday.

They approached him to offer assistance and learned that he had lost his money while traveling in Lao Cai and was also experiencing health problems.

The man was identified as Gutierrez Del Cueto Federico Gustavo, a 68-year-old Spanish national.

Police arranged for him to receive a health check, provided accommodation and care, and helped him recover.

By Friday, after his health had stabilized, Federico set off for Hanoi to complete the procedures required to return to Spain.

He expressed his gratitude to the officers for their dedicated assistance during a difficult time in an unfamiliar country.

Local authorities said the assistance reflects the humanitarian spirit and sense of responsibility of Vietnam's police force, as well as helps promote the image of Sa Pa as a safe, welcoming and friendly destination for international visitors.

Sa Pa, a famed resort town in northern Vietnam, attracts thousands of international travelers each year with its stunning landscapes, ethnic minority cultures, and trekking routes.
