Police in the northern city of Hai Phong have raided a warehouse and discovered a large volume of fashion products of famous international brands without any document proving their origin.
The municipal Department of Police confirmed on Saturday they had recently coordinated with the city’s market watchdog to examine a 800-square-meter warehouse in Cat Bi Ward, Hai An District.
A large volume of handbags, wallets, shoes, sandals and cosmetics bearing the trademarks of popular global brands, namely Louis Vuitton, Bvlgari, Gucci, Hermes, and others, were discovered at the venue.
The total value of the merchandise was estimated at VND1 billion (US$43,000), according to officers.
The owner of these products was identified as Vu Tuan Duc, a 24-year-old resident in Thuy Nguyen District, Hai Phong.

Tuan was unable to present any documents regarding the origin of the goods.
The man stated he runs an online shop and has been leasing the warehouse for about three months.
Tuan also hired about 20 people and put them in charge of packing and delivery.
The products were purchased from sellers on social media and are stored at the facility.
He would then sell them to other buyers to earn a profit.
The Hai Phong market watchdog has confiscated the goods to assist the investigation.
