The directive is detailed in Resolution No. 124/NQ-CP, recently issued following the government’s regular meeting in April.
The two aforementioned ministries are tasked with leading preparations for the military parade commemorating the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution (August 19) and National Day.
Earlier, the Government Office issued Document No. 2620 to relevant ministries, chairpersons of provincial-level administrations, and related agencies, requesting preparations for commemorative activities marking the anniversary.
On Monday, the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army convened a meeting with relevant units to discuss plans for organizing military and militia forces to participate in the 80th anniversary parade, referred to as A80.
At the meeting, the General Staff instructed that the same units and formations involved in the military parade held in Ho Chi Minh City on April 30 – commemorating the 50th anniversary of the liberation of southern Vietnam and Reunification Day (April 30) – be maintained for the upcoming event.
The A80 parade is expected to feature 11 static formations and 27 marching formations.
Units tasked with providing additional personnel for the parade reported that they have proactively developed plans, conducted screenings, and selected officers and soldiers who meet the required standards.
Training sessions have also been organized to prepare reinforcements for each formation.
Participants in the meeting also discussed and agreed on key logistical aspects, including the organization of marching units, uniforms, equipment, formation structures, staging areas, parade routes, training site arrangements, and the overall parade plan.
