The foreign ministry's spokesperson Pham Thu Hang made the statement on Sunday in reply to a query from Tuoi Tre (Youth) newspaper regarding Vietnam’s reaction to U.S. airstrikes on several Iranian nuclear facilities earlier that day.

Vietnam calls on all parties involved to immediately halt military actions, including attacks on nuclear facilities, and to resume efforts in diplomatic negotiations to resolve disagreements peacefully, based on international law, particularly the United Nations Charter, Hang stated.

She added that stakeholders should respect the sovereignty and territorial integrity of nations, international humanitarian law, and the regulations of the International Atomic Energy Agency.

The appeal came after the U.S. deployed B2 bombers to strike three significant Iranian nuclear sites—Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan—in the early hours of Sunday.

Following the U.S. airstrikes, Iran launched retaliatory attacks on multiple Israeli cities later that same day.
