Just 30 hours after launching the campaign, the total contribution had already surpassed the original target.
Nguyen Hai Anh, vice president and general secretary of the Vietnam Red Cross Society, stated that the campaign is part of the "Vietnam-Cuba Friendship Year 2025," commemorating the 65th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two nations (1960–2025).
The initiative aims to provide the Cuban people with food, essential supplies, and long-term humanitarian support.
It serves as both a humanitarian mission and a powerful message to the international community: "Vietnam stands with Cuba, as Cuba has always stood with Vietnam."
The campaign has received enthusiastic public support, with donations made through account number 2022 at the Military Commercial Joint Stock Bank (MBbank).
Hai Anh emphasized that the campaign reflects the deep and enduring solidarity between the peoples of Vietnam and Cuba.
The contributions are not only a valuable resource to help Cuba overcome difficulties and stabilize life, but also carry profound spiritual value, reinforcing the timeless symbol of the Vietnam-Cuba friendship.
Many individuals, including celebrities and online users, have shared screenshots of their donations to the Vietnam Red Cross Society on social media.
Others have visited the organization's office to make in-person contributions.
