Condé Nast Traveler recently announced the results of its Readers’ Choice Awards 2026 in its ranking of the world’s 20 favorite countries.
Southeast Asia had four representatives on the list, including Cambodia, Vietnam, Thailand, and Singapore.
Vietnam and Cambodia notably secured places in the top 10, receiving high scores from travelers.
The ranking reflects the growing international recognition of Vietnam’s position on the global tourism map, according to the Vietnam National Authority of Tourism.
Vietnam attracts visitors with its diverse landscapes, rich cultural heritage, and distinctive cuisine, offering a wide range of experiences from vibrant cities to mountainous areas, islands, beaches, and rural areas rich in cultural traditions.
The country welcomed 17.7 million international visitors in January-September, while tourism revenue was estimated at VND874 trillion (US$33.8 billion).
International visitors to Vietnam often seek destinations offering a strong sense of local culture, spectacular natural scenery, and sunny beaches, as well as bustling cities such as Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, and Da Nang.
Vietnam’s diverse culinary scene, ranging from street food to upscale restaurants, is another major draw for travelers.
In late September, Vietnam also received recognition in several categories at the World Travel Awards, including Asia’s Leading Destination and Asia’s Leading Heritage Destination.
Appearing in international rankings helps strengthen Vietnam’s tourism brand and attract more international visitors, as the country aims to welcome 70 million foreign tourists by 2045.
