According to a notice published on the Facebook page of the Ho Chi Minh City Immigration Office, citing dispatch No. 1474/CACK TSN, foreign nationals entering Vietnam and overseas Vietnamese using visas must submit personal information before arrival.

Vietnamese passport holders and transit passengers are exempt from the new rule.

Passengers must complete the declaration online or via an official QR code system and will receive a confirmation QR code to present to immigration officers at the airport.

Failure to complete the declaration in advance may result in longer processing times at immigration checkpoints.

Travelers are required to ensure the accuracy and completeness of submitted information.

The declaration can be made through the official portal at https://prearrival.immigration.gov.vn/ or by scanning QR codes provided through official channels.

It is recommended that passengers complete the process before departure to reduce congestion and speed up entry procedures.

The measure is meant to modernize immigration management, shorten inspection times, reduce congestion during peak hours, and improve the overall passenger experience in line with digital transformation efforts.

The notice has also called on airlines and travel companies to inform passengers of the requirement in advance, while relevant agencies are tasked with coordinating implementation and public communication.
