The bomb, measuring around 1.2 meters long, was discovered by local residents after prolonged flooding in October caused fast-flowing streams to erode the soil and sand, local media reported.
Upon receiving the report, the Krong Bong Commune Military Command dispatched personnel to survey the site, establish a danger zone, secure the area and prevent residents from approaching.
The bomb was then transported to a military training ground in Hoa Son Commune for controlled detonation in accordance with technical procedures.

In October and the first days of November, Krong Bong Commune also detected and coordinated the disposal of two other bombs left over from the war.
Authorities have warned residents not to touch, move or tamper with any bombs, mines or suspected explosive devices they find.
They should immediately notify local authorities or the nearest military unit so the items can be handled safely.
