The aviation sector recorded an on-time departure rate of 75.7 percent in June, with 19,382 of 25,613 flights departing on schedule.
A total of 6,231 flights were delayed, representing 24.3 percent, while 78 flights were canceled.
Vietjet operated the largest number of flights last month, with more than 11,100 services.
Its on-time performance rate stood at 71.5 percent, meaning 3,166 flights experienced delays.
National flag carrier Vietnam Airlines operated nearly 9,570 flights, achieving an on-time departure rate of 79 percent.
The carrier reported 2,054 delayed flights and 57 cancellations.
Among carriers with lower punctuality rates, Vietravel Airlines ranked last, with only 65.9 percent of flights departing on time, meaning 34.1 percent of its flights were delayed.
Meanwhile, Bamboo Airways recorded a flight delay rate at 33.2 percent.
Vasco, a subsidiary of Vietnam Airlines that mainly operates the Ho Chi Minh City-Con Dao route, recorded the highest punctuality rate at 90 percent.
Pacific Airlines achieved an on-time rate of 85.3 percent, while Sun PhuQuoc Airways reached 81.3 percent and reported no canceled flights in June.
The authority said the leading cause of flight delays remained late aircraft arrivals, which accounted for 3,711 delayed flights, or nearly 60 percent of all delays.
Air traffic management issues were the second-largest factor, contributing to 15 percent of delays, followed by causes related to airlines themselves, which represented more than 11 percent.
