The initiative was also backed by Vietnam’s national ‘Red Journey’ blood donation campaign, the Thai Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Vietnam, and C.P. Vietnam, a subsidiary of Thailand’s Charoen Pokphand Foods Public Company Limited.
Consul General Wiraka Moodhitaporn said that this voluntary activity was conducted as part of the ‘Good Deeds from the Heart’ volunteer program, initiated by Thai King Maha Vajiralongkorn.
The event included a bicycle parade and a blood donation session.
Around 100 registrants who are members of the Thai community and Vietnamese volunteers pledged to contribute to the Vietnam Red Cross Society’s blood bank.
Moodhitaporn described the event—which has been held regularly every July and December for several years—as a demonstration of the close and friendly relationship between Thailand and Vietnam.
She emphasized that this bond extends beyond governmental ties, encompassing meaningful collaboration within the private sector and among compassionate individuals dedicated to serving their communities.
The diplomat noted that the event ignited a spirit of sharing and promoted the noble value of giving, while offering the Thai community in the city an opportunity to partner with local residents in acts of kindness.
“The drive also serves as a tangible expression of gratitude to Vietnam for welcoming the Thai community living and working here,” she added.
Nguyen Tuan Khoi, deputy head of the Red Journey campaign’s organizing board, emphasized that voluntary blood donation embodies compassion and community solidarity.
He highlighted that the drive not only replenished blood supplies essential for emergency care and treatment but also reinforced the bond between Vietnam and Thailand.
