Vietnam to host 1st World Cup pickleball tournament for entrepreneurs in September

The event is expected to attract around 1,600 players from Vietnam and more than 80 countries and territories.

The Vietnam Young Entrepreneurs Association announced the tournament at a press conference on Thursday.

The tournament will feature 26 events, with total prize money exceeding VND720 million (US$27,500), excluding the value of additional gifts.

Organizers said the event is intended to be more than a sporting competition. It will provide a platform for entrepreneurs to meet, build networks, and strengthen business cooperation in an era of growing global integration, while also promoting the image of Vietnamese entrepreneurs to the international business community.

According to the organizers, Da Nang was chosen as the host city not only because of its sports and tourism infrastructure but also because it reflects Vietnam's ambition to become a leading destination for events that combine sports with business and trade.

As one of central Vietnam's most dynamic coastal cities, Da Nang has the facilities and capacity to host large-scale international events while offering participants a diverse and memorable experience.
